Managing Safely in the Marine and Subsea Industries

Jason Hall news

Development is continuing on the blended learning Managing Safely in the Marine and Subsea Sectors course.

Input to this initiative is being received from a number of key companies in the sector, including Technip, Subsea7, Bibby Offshore, Harkand, Helix Canyon, DOF Subsea and Fugro.

The course will deliver 24-hours of learning via e-Learning and workbooks and will be fully customised to accommodate the hazards, risks and control measures pertinent to the marine and subsea industries.

Chairman of the Steering Group for this project, Tim Love commented, “We are delighted with the support we have received from key players in the sector to assist us in making this product a perfect fit for the marine and subsea sectors. Assistance from members of the Steering Group with subject matter support and media capture from a range of vessels has been a material contributor to the overall content of this learning package. We are committed to continuing to develop programmes that reflect best industry and HSE practice and that carry international certification, in this instance to the IOSH standard.”

The course also reflects information from the appropriate IMCA guidelines via case studies and other online resource methods – to provide the learner with the most valuable learning experience possible.

Completion of the Managing Safely course will further complement SAFER Training’s tailored learning programmes for the subsea and marine industries, including the blended learning courses IOSH Managing Safely in the Subsea Sector and IOSH Safety for Senior Executives in the Subsea Sector.
